New blood has Tigers pumped

2014 captain Peter Trompf is off to Geelong.

THIS year’s ALF season is set to be an exciting one for the Noosa Tigers, with the team ready to roar into top place.
It was a close call for the squad last season, making it to the finals only to miss out on the top gong, but the Tigers are back for 2015.
The club has signed new players including ex-Lions premiership player Robbie Copeland, ex-Lion and Demon player Brent Moloney, ex-Barwon Heads captain Nick Hill, ex-Tiger junior Cain Tickner, plus Lachie McCardy and Mark Riley, in a move to improve on-field leadership.
A number of 100-plus-game veterans will also be pulling their jumpers on again this year including Brett Duke with an impressive 226 games under his belt, Gary Wallace with 176 games, Cubby Isles with 155, and Troy Duke with 112 games to his name.
Unfortunately, last year’s courageous captain Peter Trompf is off to play in Geelong, Ryley Buntain is off to Morningside, Josh Reichmann is heading south and Dylan Dempsey is also off to new adventures.
In an interview with Fox Sports, coach James Gellie said expectations were high for the 2015 season with the coaching staff ready to work hard with the new squad.
“Bringing in some quality recruits won’t be the answer we are looking for in regards to the team’s overall improvement, but we have to keep working hard on the areas of the game that let us down last year,” he said.
In good news for the club, Fiona Winter Realty has signed on as the sole major sponsor for the 2015 season, making this the third year in a row Fiona Winter has supported the club.
Expectations are high for the Tigers team this coming season, with the first game scheduled to kick off on Saturday 11 April against rivals Mayne.
