On Monday morning residents of Regatta Circuit Noosaville gathered together to sip tea, eat indulgent home bakes and raise money for a worthy cause.
Anne Bitter and Ian Hauser hosted the Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea, Anne having baked up a storm for the occasion which drew in plenty of neighbours. Her mother having passed away from cancer a few years ago, it had been Anne’s intention for a while now to hold the event to help raise money to find a cure for the tragic disease which has touched the lives of so many.
“I really just wanted to support the Cancer Council and the wonderful work they do,” Anne said.
“And at the same time, create a small function to bring neighbours together and strengthen the community spirit.”
Anne said she hoped the event would inspire other neighbourhoods to participate in the Biggest Morning Tea in future years.
“Most people here are affected by cancer in some way – we all want a cure that’s for sure – and this is a simple way that we can help at the grassroots,” she said.
