Authentic taste of India

By TANIA PHILLIPS

THE sights, sounds and aromas of India are brought vividly to Noosaville via the award-winning Raj Indian, in Thomas Street.
With bright Indian Saris for decoration and Bollywood dancing on the big screen, it’s hard not to be enveloped by the Indian Culture when you dine at Raj Indian.
And there is their Tandoori oven – all the way from India – helping them create those lovely aromas and tastes that are such a part of Indian cooking.
According to owner and chef Raj Selva said the tandoor oven allows them to make a variety of beautiful and authentic Naan breads as well as old favourites Chicken Tikka, Tandoori chicken and marinated lamb chops.
Raj Indian also caters for customers with special dietary needs with gluten, dairy and nut free options as well as a large array of vegetarian dishes and a large variety of dishes you may not find anywhere else.
It’s this attention to detail that sees Raj Indian consistently among the best restaurants on the Sunshine Coast.
They have been finalists in the Restaurant and Caterers Awards for the Sunshine Coast every year from 2011 until now (not bad for a restaurant which opened it’s doors in 2010). They have won the Trip Advisor awards for excellence in both 2013 and 2015.
Find them in Thomas Street, open seven days a week from noon to 2pm for lunch, and 5pm until late for dinner. Phone 5474 1411.
