Beauty tips for summer

AS soon as summer hits, we all love to run to the beach, but with Queensland recording the highest rates of skin cancer, it’s important to remember to take good care of your skin as the weather heats up.
Nothing ruins a night out with friends than searing sunburn, so make sure you take the time to slip, slop, slap before heading out to Noosa Main Beach.
Beat the heat this summer with these top five tips on how to look after your skin and still enjoy the wonderful Noosa lifestyle.
1. Protect your pout: Keep your lips luscious and hydrated this summer by applying a richly textured lip balm with an SPF 15 or higher regularly when outdoors.
2. Spritz your scalp: The sensitive skin along your hairline and part are often bombarded with harmful UVA and UVB rays when you are not wearing a hat. Use a spray sunscreen along your part as creams are harder to absorb and will leave you with a burnt part.
3. Handle your hands: The thin skin on your hands wrinkles and pigments easily, to help fight this use a moisturiser or light sunscreen with SPF15 or higher regularly to avoid your hands being burnt.
4. Cool down: Hot showers after sun exposure dry skin further. To really cool your burn, turn the temperature down and allow your skin a better chance of healing.
5. Wear a wide brim: As always, one of the best ways to beat the heat in summer is to slap on a hat. However, try to opt for a hat with a wide brim for fuller protection. Luckily, wide-brimmed hats teamed with over-sized sunglasses are right on trend this season, so you’re not only being sun smart but fashionable!
And most importantly, remember to apply sunscreen to your body at least 20 minutes before heading out into the sun and be sure to re-apply after you’ve been swimming.
Sunscreen, a hat and a shirt to cover your skin is the best way to protect your body from harmful UV rays and potential skin cancers.
