Disco dance to celebrate disability

A SPECIAL disco will be held on Saturday 3 December to celebrate World Disability Day with everyone invited to come along and enjoy a great night out.
The disco has been organised by Rob Flanagan who encourages event-goers to dress as themselves, dance like no-one’s watching, sing like no-one’s listening and smile like you don’t have a care in the world.
Rob is well-known for his gift of bringing people together and making them smile, and his passion for music needs to be seen and heard to be believed; he will even be doing all the DJ-ing on the night.
“I want to show that people in chairs can do DJ-ing. And I want to show that disabled people can create their own goals and ventures in life,” he said.
Rob’s dream is to provide a place where people can come and have the “freedom to be yourself“ to “dance like no-one’s watching”, free of judgement.
“I want to look around and see people having fun, with big smiles and partying like there’s no tomorrow,” he said.
