Salute to slow food

Matt Golinski will be the chef of honour at the final Slow Food Noosa event for 2015 on 26 November.

WITH the silly season fast approaching, Matt Golinski is here to save your bacon.
Slow Food Noosa’s final breakfast for the year is on Thursday 26 November and is sure to be a sell-out with Noosa’s favourite chef sharing his top tips for easy entertaining.
The event will be an interview-style format with local radio personality John Caruso chatting with Matt about seasonal produce and easy-to-prepare delicious dishes.
Matt said the warmer months offered a bounty of produce to work with including exotic tropical fruits, stone fruits and seafood.
“Working with seasonal produce is a win-win in that it supports local growers while allowing us to enjoy the freshest food possible,” he said.
“I’m a big fan of keeping things simple, particularly when it comes to warm weather entertaining.
“I’m looking forward to seeing my Slow Food friends again and sharing some ideas on stress free summer dishes.”
Slow Food Noosa president Erika Hackett said the organisation was thrilled to end the year by featuring one of their most-loved members and chefs.
“Matt is a founding member of Slow Food Noosa. He has been a strong advocate of the Slow Food movement and its guiding principles of supporting local growers as well as educating consumers and chefs about the importance of this.”
The event will start with breakfast at View Restaurant, Peppers Resort, Noosa Heads, from 7.45am on Thursday 26 November, followed by Matt’s presentation in the lecture theatre, and then the AGM for members.
The cost is $24 for Slow Food members and $29 for non-members and includes a full buffet breakfast. Bookings are essential so phone 5473 5758 or 0409 300 007 or email info@slowfoodnoosa.com to secure a seat.
