Winning club aims even higher

JOLENE OGLE
Sunshine Beach Surf Club president Tim Johnson is already looking to the future following the club’s major win as the Best lifesaving Supporters Club for 2014.

Mr Johnson said the club will continue to evolve so it can continue to offer its members and guests the best surf club experience in Queensland.
“We hope to continue to use our solid financial position to make improvements to the club in the years ahead, in a way that is harmonious with our community and doesn’t eradicate the unique features and ‘open feeling’ that makes Sunshine Beach Surf Club a great place to go,” he said.
Mr Johnson said the award was a great way for the club to analyse its business and set “benchmarks even higher so that we provide even more for our wonderful members”.
The award judged the club on food, service, facilities, staff, financial performance and governance, and Mr Johnson said the Club’s members can be rightly proud of their club.
“We believe we have great food and the friendliest staff around, so we hope it sees more people coming to check us out,” he said.
Marketing and Functions Coordinator Nichola Laycock said the award win was unexpected but has “definitely been a big motivator for the whole team”.
“We have all worked really hard over the past 12 months and are thrilled to see it has paid off. We are looking forward to the coming year and living up to our reputation of being the Best Surf Club Saving Supporters Club in Queensland,” she said.
