Music, magic and Aussie pride

THE much-loved Australia Day festival is back and the 2017 event promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The family fun day will be held on Thursday 26 January and will feature live music, kids’ entertainment and plenty of food stalls to suit all tastes including the Rotary Big Breakfast from 7am.
Sofitel’s Noosa Beach House restaurant head chef Woody Theruerl will hold cooking demonstrations of some great Aussie favourites with a simple gourmet twist.
Nickleby the magician will be onstage and roaming among the crowd throughout the day performing magic tricks, while Twisted Mr will create balloon animals and Luke’s Reptile Kingdom will have interactive shows for animal lovers.
There will also be prizes for the best Aussie outfit on the day and the CWA cake stall will be back.
The live music will run from 8.30am to 3.15pm and includes acts such as Mark Moroney, Andrea Kirwin, Sharon Brooks and her six-piece band Pocket Love, with Ryan Giles as the headline act.
Event organisers have everyone “covered” this year with a huge marquee making the event an all-weather festival.
The Noosa Australia Day Festival will be held at the Lions Park, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, on Thursday 26 January, from 7am to 4pm.
