Council has appointed arete Australia, a division of Kane Constructions, to carry out the $1.63M Noosaville Library renovation with construction to begin in April.
Two temporary facilities have been opened at the Leisure Centre to drop off items and collect reservations and a temporary library at Noosa Civic to maintain services while the Noosaville facility is closed.
Cooroy’s Library and the Mobile Library are both operating.
The renovated library will feature an extra 80sqm of library space, technology maker space, outdoor Wi-Fi enabled reading courtyard, heritage library room, Radio Frequency ID smart technology and lighting and air-conditioning upgrades.
Design highlights include feature joinery and special acoustic ceiling panels.
The Noosaville Library expansion is being financed jointly between Noosa Council and the Queensland Government.
