Horse home visit

In brief

TROOP horses Manny and Hercules, along with Acting Sergeant Katie Blomkamp and Constable Lauren Fitzjohn of the mounted police, made a special house call last week.
While on deployment in Noosa last week, Acting Sgt Blomkamp and Constable Fitzjohn met Simon and his carer. Seeing what a positive reaction Simon had to the horses, Mounted Police officers visited him last Wednesday and this time got to meet his friend, Billy.
Both boys were excited to see the Mounted Police and to get up close to the horses, with one of the Endeavour Foundation carers commenting it was a real highlight for them.
Simon and Billy weren’t the only ones who thoroughly enjoyed the visit with Acting Sergeant Blomkamp and Constable Fitzjohn receiving invitations to come back and attend both boys’ birthdays in March.

Appeal for assistance
POLICE are still looking for the driver of a white ute believed to have been responsible for a hit and run on Boxing Day.
On 26 December, Graeme Osbourne, 75, and his wife Jann were on their way home from the Sunshine Beach Surf Club when a white ute hit the motorbike they were riding at the intersection of Ross Crescent and Hill Street, Sunshine Beach.
Police are looking for a white Toyota ute with an Eagles sticker on the back that may have been removed since the incident.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit the Noosa Heads Police Station.
