Noosa Masters triumphant

By Margaret Maccoll

Noosa Masters swimmers have again upstaged their Hervey Bay hosts by snatching victory at the recent meet. This continues a tradition of Noosa wins that has left the host club scratching their heads. The Noosa team returned with the ‘large clubs’ trophy and a swag of medals. Noosa medalists were Gold: Rob Jolly, Bob Morse, Brian Hoepper, Sam Penny; Silver: Lois Hill, Jo Matthews; Bronze: Tricia Chalmers, Adrian Wilson. They were backed up by impressive results from Rod Alfredson, Linda Hogg, Wendy Ivanusec, Helen Malar, Viv Merrill and Jacky Shields. As usual, Hervey Bay produced an exemplary meet, a terrific mix of competition and social interaction. The Noosa swimmers treated the event as excellent preparation for the upcoming State Championships in Rockhampton in mid-March.
