More than 2000 Sunshine Coast properties lost power last Thursday when a paraflyer became tangled up in power lines at Selene Street in Sunrise Beach.
An Energex crew cut power to the power lines while it conducted emergency repairs.
The 50-year-old man had freed himself from the harness before emergency services arrived, and escaped with only a few abrasions.
The man was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
