Cab cuts on hold for review

By JONATHON HOWARD

COUNCIL Cab users across Noosa can breathe a sigh of relief for the next few weeks at least after council voted to defer a decision on the matter pending further research.
However, a final vote on the matter was expected tonight during the council’s ordinary meeting.
It was during the Noosa Council’s general committee meeting that councillors voted to continue but investigate the use of the Council Cab service.
Council Cabs transport people aged 60 and over from their home to specified shops or medical precincts.
The service is available one day per week at a cost of $2 one way.
Council had one option which was to scrap the service, but councillors said they did not want to leave members of the public stranded and the service required more investigation.
