Events galore at festival

NOOSA Food and Wine 2016 is taking place in just a few weeks from 20 to 22 May with more than 40 fantastic events showcasing some of Australia’s best chefs and Queensland’s great produce.
Events will take place under the Noosa Tipi on Main Beach, in Hastings Street for a long lunch, by the Noosa River in Noosaville and in signature restaurants throughout Noosa.
Guest chefs include Pete Evans, Ben O’Donoghue, Luke Mangan, Cory Campbell, Massimo Mele, Ian Curley, James Viles, David Pugh, Matt Golinski and more from some of Australia’s best restaurants including Nu Nu, Fish House, Gerard’s Bistro, European, Stokehouse and Harrison’s, just to name a few.
The Noosa Food and Wine 2016 is jam-packed with amazing events, here are just some of the highlights.
MIDNIGHT HARVEST BLUE PYRENEES WINE DINNER AT SIROCCO
Friday 20 May at 6.30pm – $135
Join Sirocco Noosa for an evening overlooking the Noosa River with enchanting Blue Pyrenees wines. Highly acclaimed celebrity chef Ben Williamson from Gerard’s Bistro will join with talented Sirocco chef.
AN EVENING AT SEASON WITH BEN O’DONOGHUE
Friday 20 May at 7pm – $170
With views across Laguna Bay to Noosa’s North Shore, Season Restaurant offers a stunning backdrop for that ultimate dining experience. Reflecting on Season’s unique seaside location, chef Andrew Tomlin and guest chef Ben O’Donoghue will create a seasonal menu, focusing heavily on seafood and local produce. Your three-course meal will include matched wines.
PEPPERS NOOSA ‘QUEENSLAND PRODUCE ON SHOW’
Friday 20 May at 7.30pm – $175
Join executive chef Andreas Nielsen and guest chefs Matt Golinski and Alastair McLeod for a three- course set menu at View, putting Queensland produce on show and served with matched wines. A special performance by jazz, funk and soul quartet, Jasper will complement your meal. Wines hosted by Iain Riggs, chief winemaker at Brownwood.
THE PALEO WAY WITH PETE EVANS
Saturday 21 May, 10am-noon, $95
Following on from his success on MKR, join celebrity chef and author Pete Evans for ‘The Paleo Way’ at The J Theatre. Enjoy a light bite and a welcome drink followed by a presentation from Pete on the Paleo Way and finish with a Q&A session. Guests will also receive Pete’s 10-week activation program, The Paleo Way valued at $99 included in the ticket price.
EL CHIRINGUITO FIESTA DE ESPANA
Saturday 21 May at 5pm. Limited tickets at an all-inclusive price of $165.
Rococo Noosa teams up with MoVida Melbourne to recreate El Chiringuito, the soul of the beach. A true Spanish Fiesta! Frank Camorra brings his deliciously authentic and highly acclaimed Spanish flavours to Noosa for this one-off opportunity to experience a Noosa Main Beach Fiesta of grand proportions. Enjoy tapas, music, wine, parilla, paella, song and dance brought to life by Estrella Damm, Barcelona.
SURFERS V’S CHEFS BREAKFAST PRESENTED BY TASTE.COM.AU
Sunday 22 May from 6.30am to 10am – $30
Noosa Food and Wine 2016 is not just about food and wine, it also celebrates lifestyle. And what better way to do this than by heading to the beach on Sunday morning for a surf. Join us for breakfast at 8.30am presented by taste.com.au on Noosa Main Beach with guest chefs including Pete Evans, Peter Kuruvita, Andreas Nielsen, Ben O’Donoghue and Samantha Gowing and watch them compete in the waves with surfing royalty. The competition starts at 6.30am and is run by Classic Malibu is in support of SurfAid. Also enjoy a free Pilates class from Luxe Fitness Escapes.
NOOSA BOATHOUSE PRESENTS ’YOU’RE BETTER ON BEEF’ BARBECUE BY THE RIVER
Sunday 22 May from 11.30am to 4.30pm – $15
The Noosa River shores will come to life when Noosa Boathouse presents a celebration of Australian beef and live music from Sunshine Coast music legend Carl Wockner and powerhouse band Honey. Renowned chefs Matt Golinski, Alastair McLeod, Sunny Gilbert and Shane Bailey with Sammy and Bella from MKR will serve up their favourite sirloin dishes along with Stone and Wood craft beers and selected great Australian wines. Come and enjoy a fantastic day of food, beer and wine on the Noosa River at Lions Park in Noosaville.
BIOTA DINING AT WASABI
Sunday 22 May at 6pm – $250 – 10 course Kaiseki Degustation.
Join award winning chefs James Viles (Biota), Zeb Gilbert (Wasabi) and Jiro Numata (Wasabi) and finish the Noosa Food and Wine 2016 weekend in style by booking an exclusive seat for our 10- course Kaiseki Degustation. The experience explores the bounty of Australia’s sustainable produce, plus ingredients from Wasabi’s own farm, Honeysuckle Hill. All dishes will be thoughtfully paired with eclectic wines and beverages from Naked Bunch.
