Noosa’s time to wine and dine

The Noosa Food and Wine Festival is fast approaching with the jam-packed program of events and affordable tickets set to go on sale in March.
Tourism Noosa CEO Damien Massingham said the festival, from 20 to 22 May, will be a celebration of great food and wine in one of Australia’s most loved food destinations, Noosa.
The 2016 event will have a fresh, new approach with the festival being spread over the region with a variety of talks, feasts, challenges and local chefs making this year one to remember.
“Events will take place in Noosa Restaurants featuring some of Australia’s best chefs and producers along with official functions in iconic Noosa locations including Noosa Main Beach and the Noosa River,” Mr Massingham said.
“Noosa Food and Wine 2016 will have a welcome party on Friday 20 May on Noosa Main Beach with the famous setting also hosting events on Sunday 22 May with the Surfers versus Chefs breakfast and the finale event, the Full Moon Asian Seafood Feast.”
“Other locations in Noosa will include an event on Sunday along the foreshore of the Noosa River and of course some great lunches and dinners in some of Noosa’s best restaurants as well as a seafood trail to Makepeace Island.”
The 2016 festival is affordable for all budgets with ticket prices starting from as low as $15 and value-for-money events that are sure to have your mouth watering.
“One of the events that we are excited about is welcoming back Pete Evans to Noosa where he will not only co-host a dinner but also share a presentation at The J Theatre on the Paleo Way including a Q&A session,” Mr Massingham said.
“In addition to his presentation, guests will enjoy a light bite with Pete and also receive his 10-week activation program, ‘The Paleo Way’ valued at $99, all included in the one price of $95.”
Festival director Alesha Gooderham said over 20 chefs from across Australia would be attending the event, including Pete Evans, Cameron Matthews, Massimo Mele and Spencer Patrick.
“These chefs will join some of our own local chefs who are nationally recognised and choose to call Noosa home,” Ms Gooderham said.
